The Power of the Mastermind

Mastermind GroupIf you’ve ever read Napoleon Hill’s seminal classic, Think and Grow Rich, you know about the power of the mastermind. He states . . .

“Men take on the nature and the habits and the power of thought of those with whom they associate in a spirit of sympathy and harmony.”

Hill goes on to suggest forming a group of like minded people with whom you meet regularly in order to share ideas, brainstorm, and get different perspectives to problems . . . all in the pursuit of a definite purpose.

He goes on to say . . .

“Analyze the record of any person who has accumulated great fortune, and many of those who have accumulated modest fortunes, and you will find that they have either consciously, or unconsciously employed the Master Mind principle.”

After reading this years ago, I decided to start a mastermind group and based it around reading excellent books. Over the last 5 1/2 years, I’ve been facilitating our group. We pick out a great nonfiction book from any discipline that we can learn from . . . management, marketing, sales, leadership, business profiles, real estate investing, finance, economics, business motivation, etc. and assign weekly reading.

We meet on a weekly basis to discuss the ideas, theories, and examples from each book, and how we can apply them to our businesses. Since its inception, we’ve read over a hundred of the best books on the market.

I shot a quick video at our meeting yesterday to “let you in” on our mastermind group . . .

How powerful would it be if you started a mastermind group with other real estate investors? Where do you think you could be in 6 months if you had other investors to bounce ideas off of, collaborate with, and find out what’s working and what’s not?

Napoleon Hill interviewed over 500 of the most successful people of his time like Henry Ford, Harvey Firestone, and Thomas Edison and found the mastermind principle to be a vital component of their successes. I challenge you to take action today . . . form a group of like minded real estate investors and entrepreneurs to meet with regularly. There’s no quicker way to success than modeling other successful people.

Shoot me any questions you have. I’m here to help.

  1. As part of Patrick’s mastermind group/book club, I can tell you that getting together in a weekly structured environment has been invaluable.

Not only have we read and discussed tons of great books, I have like minded entrepreneurs to bounce ideas off of before implementing them into my business.

Great idea sharing this with your blog readers Patrick!
