How to Find a Real Estate Investing Mentor

Real_Estate_Investing_MentorI’ve always loved this quote from Proverbs, “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.”

It reminds me of the importance of having a mentor, and in our case, a real estate investing mentor.

I met my mentor, Louis Brown, about 3 months after first getting bitten by the REI bug. It was at a free seminar in Atlanta. And there were several real estate investing experts there, but Lou blew them all away in my mind.

There was an expert panel discussion that Lou dominated. His investing prowess seemed unmatched. I had found my mentor.

How to Find a Real Estate Investing Mentor

Having Lou Brown as my mentor has made ALL the difference in my investing career.

And finding the right REI mentor will do the same for you.

There’s a wise saying that you’ve probably heard before, “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.”

Well, guess what?

In the video below, I show you exactly how to become “ready”. Follow the two steps in the video below and your teacher, your mentor will appear …

Patrick – as always awesome video!! And I believe you are totally right – especially about the being ready part. You have to get clear on what you want in anything and finding a great mentor really isn’t any different.

Busy day at Starbucks when you filmed this eh?!!

Hey Julie … thanks for stopping by. Glad you enjoyed the video. Yeah, Starbucks was slammed yesterday morning. It’s a different location that I usually go to, but even though it’s pretty busy, I like to switch things up here and there.

Dave … glad you can make the webinar tonight. Lou is awesome. You’ll enjoy.

    Patrick,

Again a information packed video. Everyone who I have met that is successul in REI,says the same thing, you need a mentor. After fumbling along for years and burning through a lot of money, I found that you need more than one mentor. One on Real Estate, one on how to build a business, one to keep you motivated.

  5. Patrick Riddle says:

Charles … you’re dead on. I have mentors in all different areas of business and life. Many of whom I’ve never met … but I’ve studied their works extensively and they guide me day by day.

I have a marketing mentor, sales mentor, REI mentor, and on and on.

Thanks for contributing Charles. Let me know if I can help you with anything.

    BEWARE OF YOUR MENTOR

Louis Brown, “The King of Cash Flow” is currently under criminal investigation by the Georgia Attorney General and the IRS for  tax evasion. Louis teaches students how to “protect” their assets using complicated layers of trusts, llcs, and charitable foundations. If you feel you have been misled or defrauded or can assist in this federal investigation in any way, please contact Special Agent Maisha Horton with The Dept of Treasury, Internal Revenue Service, Criminal Investigation Division at 678-371-6797 or Special Agent William Salinski at 678-371-9730. Feel free to contact either of these Special Agents to verify these facts. Also consider consulting your attorney before implementing any strategies Louis teaches.

How do we locate the “right properties”, It seems everytime I get one to look at are there are 20 other people right there puting in contracts! We talk about deals of 65% LTV,
are there really those properties out there?? And if these deals are out there,is there a special place to go and find them??

I have a lot of info on the blog here on marketing to find motivated sellers. Click on the “Marketing” category in the sidebar and check out a lot of the articles. There’s one where there’s a link to a teleconference call I did on all the strategies I use to find great deals.
